for me! Last night I had plans to teach a friend to make a pillowcase dress. I decided to leave home early and get a few things done that I'd been wanting to do. First I went and I got my very first pedicure. Most of it was lovely. I do think the massage chair was a little harsh and made my muscles sore and at one point I thought the salt scrub was taking even my good skin off. Other than that I was thrilled, especially with the results. I wear flip-flops all summer and the older I get the dryer my skin seems to get (I do drink a lot of water and no I don't moisturize nearly often enough). I then grabbed a quick supper and ran to Hobby Lobby for some things we needed for "class". From there I went on to the dress project. Her dress turned out really cute and I think she's confident that she can do it again. For a long time I've been eyeing the watches at Cracker Barrell. They are bracelet watches with interchangeable bands. Well on Easter Sunday I realized the battery had died on my other watch. It had seen much better days, so I decided to get a new one. I went last night and got the watch face and two bands, one has black and clear beads and the other has cream and brown. I can't wait to get some more options. There was a kind of creepy man outside and it was dark, so two very kind men escorted me out. Then I went to the tanning bed for the first time this year and came home. I was out for almost 6 hours! It was a nice relaxing time. Now to get back to the real world and get some major things accomplished around here.
Disclaimer ~ I know people have varying opinions of tanning beds. I understand those concerns. As a matter of fact I do not tan every year, even though I can go free because of my job. However, I am very fair complected and we are going to the beach in a few weeks. If I don't go to the tanning bed and very slowly work my way up to a base tan, I will burn badly while we are on vacation. Even with a base tan I'll still have to slather the sunscreen on almost constantly. I'll probably go a few times a week for about a month and then stop. I don't enjoy it, but have found for me, it's necessary if I'm going to be spending a ton of time in the sun.
